Joining the Royal Malta Golf Club (RMGC)

Under a long standing arrangement, which dates back to the early 1900’s, those wishing to join the RMGC are required to be Members of the Marsa Sports and Country Club (MSC) www.marsasportsclub.com.

This is perceived as a value added by Members, as they (and their family if they join in that category) are able to make use of the dozen or so sporting facilities that the MSC boasts, along with the swimming pool, bars and restaurants.

The Annual Fee Structures

Full Membership of the RMGC (and MSC)

MSC Annual Membership Single €255.00; Family €365.00

There is a one off joining fee of €70.00 for singles and €117.00 for a family.

RMGC Annual Membership - Full Membership (Unlimited Golf) €890.00

There is a one off joining fee of €1780.00 and a 3rd party compulsory insurance of €5.00 annually.

The Process

Applicants are required to fill in an application form in full and submit this to the RMGC Secretariat. This will be duly processed and the applicant/s will be required to attend the New Members Night (held monthly), in order to meet the Captain and his Committee. The Captain will then formally recommend the applicant to the Club’s Board of Management for balloting. Successful applicants will then be invoiced and, upon settlement, will become Members.

Applicants are able to play golf at the RMGC during this process, under the payment of the requisite Green Fees.

Overseas Membership (OM) at the Royal Malta Golf Club

Overseas Membership is only available to persons who spend just part of their year in Malta and are ordinarily Resident in a Country other than Malta.

This category of Membership allows unlimited golf whilst visiting Malta, including Official Club Competitions.

OM’s may attend General Meetings, but have no voting rights at such meetings.

OM is available subject to application, and such applications are processed on a monthly basis. Applicants need only download the RMGC Application Form.

Fees payable for OM are € 595.00 per annum, which includes an Overseas Membership to the Marsa Sports and Country Club. A compulsory 3rd party liability insurance of €5.00 is payable annually.

OM’s are subject to a nominal pay-as-you-play fee of € 5 for each time they play golf.
