Current team standings

Format: Mixed competition in the form of a league to be played on a Sunday or whenever suitable, over a number of months starting September/October (optional). This is a qualifying competition.

Six Sponsored Teams (to be chosen as follows):
(a) Sponsors should be encouraged to captain their own teams, otherwise the Captains will be chosen in the first round of the selection process.
(b) Each Captain to be given a copy of all entrants.
(c) The Captains’ names are drawn to determine the sequence of the selection process.
(d) The first Captain drawn will pick his first selection for his team. The second Captain will then pick his first selection for his team and so until all Captains have picked a player each.
(e) If the Team Captain is not the sponsor, the Captain will choose the sponsor as his/her first choice. (Obviously if the sponsor is a RMGC member).
(f) The Captain who chose first in the first round will become the last to choose in the second round. The second drawn Captain will then have first choice to select the second player for his team and so until all players are chosen.
(g) Should the number of players not be exactly divisible by the number of Captains then some teams will have one more player than others. This is acceptable and will not automatically entitle the team(s) with the lesser number of players to new entrants.
(h) If the number of team members should fall below 10 before playing the 3rd round, then the team Captain may replace player(s) (up to the original number drawn) with players of a similar handicap as those who have dropped out.

ENTRANCE

The entrance fee for the competition must be paid before the draw is made.
If any round is cancelled and not reinstated later in the year the entrance fee for that round/s will be refunded at the end of the competition. It is advised that not more than 2 members of the same team may play in the same flight.

No late entries will be allowed after the draws are made, even if teams have an uneven number of players.

Teams will compete against each other by using the best 5 scores of their team. (The number of best scores may be altered for the current year, if necessary, depending on the number of players in the teams.)

The Competition is a Stableford league format and will be played once a month weather conditions allowing. (Should there be any cancellation of a round due to bad weather conditions two rounds may have to be played within a month to make up.)

TEAM SCORING

The best 5 scores of each team will count for the Team’s aggregate score for that round.
Points will be awarded for each placing; eg 6 points for a win, 5 points for second place etc.
If any team (or teams) is unable to return 5 scores before the competition results are posted, the result will be considered incomplete and that team/teams will be awarded the statutory 1 point.

In the event of a tie at the end of the whole competition, extra points will be awarded to the teams who are tied for any 1st 2nd and 3rd places in all of the rounds in order to decide the winner. 3pts for 1st, 2 points for 2nd and 1 point for 3rd.

PRIZES

A prize of Lm5 is awarded to each member of the winning team who played that round. A prize of Lm5 is also awarded to the highest scorer of the day. Only Team members qualify for the top score of prize and the whiskey draw. At the end of the competition a prize will be awarded for the 2 individual top scorers – i.e. the best over-all individual score for the whole competition – category Men & Ladies.
A Team member must play a minimum of 3 rounds to qualify for a prize regardless of being in any winning team.
Prizes for each round are presented the following month. Once the draw has been made no new entrants will be considered unless there is agreement from all the sponsors and organizers.

In the event of any dispute during the course of the competition the final decision lies with Maureen Borg.
